Privacy policy

Everything Mossle keeps is kept in your own browser, on your own device. There are two places it goes, and both of them are yours.

Extension storage (chrome.storage.local)

Your folders, your pins, the notes you write on a chat, the title and last seen date of every chat Mossle has noticed, your settings, and your Pro licence key if you have one.

Browser database (IndexedDB, named moss-db)

The text of the chats you have opened while the extension was installed. This is what full text search searches and what the Markdown export writes out. It is created under claude.ai in your browser, which matters when you come to delete it: see removing your data.

Mossle only reads a conversation when you open it. It does not walk through your history in the background, and it does not call any internal API to fetch chats you have not opened yourself.

• There is no account and no login. You never give Mossle an email address.
• There is no Mossle server. Nothing is uploaded, synced or backed up anywhere.
• There is no analytics, no telemetry, no error reporting and no usage tracking of any kind, in the extension or on this website.
• Your conversations are never read by us, transmitted, sold or shared. We could not read them if we wanted to.
• No advertising, and nothing injected into the pages you visit beyond Mossle's own panel.

Exactly one network request is possible in the whole extension, and only you can cause it.

If you buy Pro, you paste the licence key into Mossle’s settings and press Activate. That sends one request to Lemon Squeezy’s licence activation service so the key can be checked. The request carries two things: the licence key you typed, and the fixed word “Mossle” as the name of the activation. It carries no chat content, no titles, no notes, no folders and no personal details. Like any web request it reaches Lemon Squeezy with your IP address, which their privacy policy covers.

It happens only when you press Activate. There is no check in the background, no revalidation later, and no second endpoint. Lemon Squeezy’s reply includes your name and email address, because it is your purchase record. Mossle does not keep either: it stores the key, the activation id and the date, all locally.

The part of Mossle that runs on claude.ai makes no network request of any kind, ever. Activation happens in the extension’s own settings window, not on the page.

Pro is sold through Lemon Squeezy, who are the merchant of record. That means Lemon Squeezy take the payment, handle your billing details and issue the receipt. Mossle never sees your card, your address or your name.

What Lemon Squeezy do with that information is covered by their privacy policy.

Mossle asks for the storage permission, which is what lets it save your folders and pins in your browser, and for access to https://claude.ai, which is the only site it runs on. It has no permission to read any other site, and no permission to see your browsing history, your tabs or your downloads.

There are two stores, so there are two steps. Both are entirely in your hands.

Uninstalling the extension

Removes everything Chrome holds for Mossle: your folders, pins, notes, settings and licence key. Chrome deletes this the moment the extension is removed.

Clearing site data for claude.ai

Removes the search index. Because the index is written by the part of Mossle that runs on the page, your browser files it under claude.ai rather than under the extension, so uninstalling alone does not delete it. In Chrome: Settings, Privacy and security, Third party cookies, See all site data and permissions, search for claude.ai, then Delete.

You do not have to ask us to delete anything, and there would be nothing for us to delete. We hold no copy.

mossle.app sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from any other company. There are no fonts, scripts, pixels or embeds from a third party, so no one else learns that you visited. There is no form on this site and nothing to sign up for.

Our hosting provider keeps ordinary server logs, which include IP addresses, for a short period for security and to keep the site running. We do not read them for analytics and we do not build any profile from them.

If this policy changes in a way that affects what Mossle does with your data, the change will appear in the extension’s release notes before it takes effect, and the date at the top of this page will change.
